What are the various user-friendly features of Google Wave?

Google is giving a sneak preview of its much-awaited new tool termed Google Wave. The idea is to let developers make relevant modifications to it before the wave is publicly launched.

A posting from the Google team explains: “As with Google Chrome and Android, we intend to make the code open source as a means of encouraging the developer community to get involved in the whole process. Google Wave is very open and extensible. We are inviting developers to add all kinds of stuff before our public launch. We are excited to see the feedback we get from our early tinkerers. We shall make many more changes to the Google Wave product, platform, as well as protocol as we move forward.”

Let us take a look at the various features of Google Wave:
• The latest offering from the search engine giant is a single communication model, incorporating text, photos, maps, videos, etc.
• A ‘wave’ is equal parts conversation & document. It enables users to communicate and work together. They are required to create a wave to use the new tool and add people to it.
• Each individual user on the wave can access the richly formatted photos, text, gadgets, and feeds from other sources available on the web.
• One can insert and edit the wave directly as well as view what other users are typing in their wave.
